Dental x-rays are a very important diagnostic tool that allows us to see into your teeth and beneath your gums to catch problems like cavities and disease that we would otherwise be unable to see. This allows us to treat small problems before they turn into big, painful problems.
X-rays used for medical and dental purposes expose patients to very low radiation levels. Even so, protective precautions (such as lead aprons) are still taken. At our office, we exclusively use digital x-rays that reduce your radiation levels by up to 90 percent compared to traditional film x-rays.
